Meta Quest 4 Pro VR goggles may launch in 2025 to compete with Apple Vision Pro

Meta already had virtual reality (VR) headsets named Meta Quest before Apple introduced the Vision Pro headset earlier this year. A new report has revealed that Meta is collaborating with LG Electronics to launch a new high-end mixed reality (MR) headset in 2025, aiming to compete with the Vision Pro headset. This new device is expected to be named ‘Meta Quest 4 Pro’.

According to a report by Gizmochina, Meta is expected to release a new low-priced VR/ augmented reality (AR) model next year for under $200. Also, Meta and LG will work on an MR device that will likely be launched in 2025 to compete against Apple’s Vision Pro headset. For those who are unaware Apple unveiled the Vision Pro headset earlier this year and will be available for purchase in early 2024.

 Meta LG headset

Meta’s new high-end LG collaborated model could be named ‘Meta Quest 4 Pro’. The word "Pro" in the name suggests that this headset might actually be the 2025 model produced by the partnership.

It's important to note that LG Electronics has been concentrating on research and development (R&D) and filed a MR patent application in 2019. Although it is too early to say for sure whether or not this patent and collaboration are connected, the report said.

In June, Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg had announced Meta Quest 3 which features higher resolution, stronger performance, breakthrough Meta Reality technology, and a slimmer, more comfortable form factor.

According to Meta, the Quest 3 headset features a 40% slimmer optic profile as compared to Quest 2, making it a sleeker, more comfortable headset. With Meta’s advances in tracking technology, the company also dropped the outer tracking rings so that the controllers feel like a more natural extension of users’ hands and take up less space.
